The TV, which can also work as a personal computer, will be available in the market next month. Called 'One Touch PC, One Touch TV', the Windows 10 televisions come equipped with Microsoft Office, the Windows Store, All Cast app.
"In these changing times, we realised the needs of our consumers of having easy access to technology at their convenience and therefore designed the world's first hybrid TV cum PC," Videocon Head of Technology and Innovation Akshay
Dhoot said at the launch event in New Delhi.
Dhoot said the company expects to have at least 5 percent sales of H2 period coming from the Windows 10 TV and 3 percent from the Android TV sets.
"Right now, we have launched only 32 and 40-inch models, which are popular in the consumer segment. Depending on the feedback from the market, we would launch 55, 65 and 24-inches also," said Dhoot.
He added that the company would launch the larger screen sizes of 55 and 65 inches along with one small size of 24 inches by the end of this year after getting the response from the market.
Videocon, which has a network of around 55,000 point of sales, would initially introduce it to around 60 stores located in the upmarket areas and to other places in a phase wise manner.
Speaking on the occasion, Microsoft Director (Windows Business Group) Vineet Durani said Windows 10 has received good response from customers globally with over 110 million downloads.
"With this innovative product, we intend to extend the Windows 10 experience to more users... At Microsoft, it is our constant endeavor to help our partners enter newer categories and create innovative products in order to offer our customers the best user experience at affordable price points," Durani said. The TV comes with a full-HD display, 2GB of DDR3 RAM, inbuilt Wi-Fi, MHL and HDMI ports, and 16GB of inbuilt storage that can be expanded via microSD card.
