Amkette on Wednesday launched the Evo TV 3 4K with an upgraded 2GB of RAM in India. The new Evo TV model comes at a price of Rs. 7,999, and is running on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 operating system. The device emerges as an upgrade over the Evo TV 2 4K that was launched in December last year.
Unlike the last year's Evo TV model, the Amkette Evo TV 3 4K supports 7.1 channel Dolby Digital surround sound experience and includes an enhanced Wi-Fi 802.11 g/n connectivity. The media streaming device comes preloaded with a media player app that has compatibility with the latest H.265 and VP9 formats. Further, there is the open source Kodi media organiser and player onboard that enables you to stream your photos, videos and music directly from your smartphone, tablet, or notebook.
The Evo TV 3 has a 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 octa-core processor at a clock speed of 1.6GHz and an ARM Mali 450 penta-core GPU. There is 8GB of onboard storage that can be expanded with a Class 10 microSD card of up to 128GB capacity. Additionally, the device comes bundled with a six-axis gyroscopic "air" remote.
Amkette has provided Bluetooth 4.1 on the new Evo TV to let you connect your compatible headphones with the device and get a personalised video watching experience. Furthermore, there is support for Evo Gamepad to connect you to the gaming world right through your HDTV.
"Evo TV 3 sets the benchmark with its cutting-edge technology and Ultra-HD 4K picture with HDR and 7.1 channel surround sound," said Rajiv Bapna, Director, Amkette, in a press statement.
