Highlights
  • BSNL Sixer 666 recharge pack offers 2GB data daily, unlimited calls
  • It is priced at Rs. 666, and has 60-day validity
  • The pack competes with Jio’s Rs. 509 plan

Even though the deadline for Reliance Jio Summer Surprise and Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offers is drawing near, rival telecom operators are not letting their guard down, and continue launching new offers to ensure customers stick with them. Therefore, it will come as no surprise to anyone that BSNL has launched a new plan with 120GB of bundled data and unlimited calls at Rs. 666. A rival to the Reliance Jio Rs. 509 plan, this BSNL recharge pack – named Sixer 666 – is priced at Rs. 666, and has a validity of 60 days.

BSNL Sixer 666 pack details

BSNL says this plan is aimed at prepaid customers who want both data and voice benefits, as it provides unlimited voice calls to any network, and data in allowances of 2GB per day. It should be pointed out that BSNL network is capped to 3G speeds only, while Reliance Jio has a 4G-only network.

R.K. Mittal, Director (CM), BSNL Board, said "BSNL offers best prices & plan to our mobile customers considering present trend of usability in industry. We are committed to providing affordable and efficient services to all segments of our mobile customers."

Sixer 666 is the latest data-heavy BSNL plan, as the company launched the Chaukka 444 plan with 360GB bundled data at Rs. 444 mid-June. Just last week, the company launched two combo packs with bundled data, dedicated talk time value for calls, and on-net SMSes. Prior to this, the company announced the ‘Triple Ace’, ‘Dil Khol Ke Bol’, and ‘Nehle Pe Dehla’ special tariff vouchers with voice and data benefits.

Of course, BSNL is not the only telecom operator offering such plans, as Airtel, Vodafone, and Idea also offer data-heavy plans now. Airtel recently announced postpaid customers will get 30GB of data for free for a period of 3 months under its Monsoon Surprise offer, while Vodafone is giving free Netflix subscription of up to a year to Red postpaid users. Idea Cellular, on the other hand, launched a Rs. 396 plan with 70GB of data and unlimited on-net calls.
