Airtel is posing tough competition to Reliance Jio in the rat race that the Indian telecom industry is currently witnessing. While the mobile operator has been revising some of its tariffs recently, it has also launched an entry-level recharge pack of Rs. 9. Under the new scheme, Airtel is offering unlimited voice calling, SMS and data benefits to its subscribers.
In the Airtel Rs. 9 offer, subscribers can avail unlimited local, STD, and roaming calls for a validity period of one day. Additionally, the offer also provides 100SMS and 100MB of data for a day. The Airtel Rs. 9 offer counters Reliance Jio's Rs. 19 plan. Under the Rs. 19 plan, Jio offers unlimited calls, 20SMS, and 150MB of data. When it comes to pricing, Airtel's offer is better, at least in terms of SMS and data. Airtel also has a Rs. 23 plan where users can get unlimited calls (Local, STD, roaming), 200MB data, and 100 SMS for a validity period of two days.
Users can avail the Rs. 9 plan from Airtel via the company's mobile application or website. The recharge pack is available under the Combo Offer section. The Rs. 9 plan is essentially designed for subscribers who wish to get for a one-day pack with limited usage.
For subscribers who are looking for more benefits, Airtel recently revised its Rs. 93 recharge pack where it is providing 'unlimited' local and STD calls, free calls on roaming, 100 SMS messages per day, and 1GB of 4G/ 3G data for a 28-day validity period. However, the 'unlimited' calls are limited to 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week.
Additionally, Airtel also revised its Rs. 149 prepaid pack to offer 1GB 3G/ 4G data per day (total of 28GB), unlimited voice calls, and 100 SMSes per day. The validity of the pack is 28 days.
