According to Androidcentral forum post, the Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet's Wi-Fi variant is receiving Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update over-the-air (OTA) in US.
The update notification on the Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet reveals stability improvements and minor interface tweaks in TouchWiz that include Contacts, S Planner and Email. The update is about 662MB in size and can also be updated via Samsung's desktop app, Kies. However, there is no official word on the roll out of the Android 4.2.2 update for the tablet to other regions including India, yet.
Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet at MWC earlier this year which natively ran Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 fills a gap in company's line-up of pen-equipped devices between the Galaxy Note II phablet with its 5.5-inch screen, and the Galaxy Note 10.1, a full-size tablet. It comes with 8-inch WXGA (1280x800) display with pixel density of 189ppi. The tablet is powered by 1.6GHz quad-core processor along with 2GB of RAM. The Galaxy Note 8.0 features a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3-megapixel front camera. Connectivity features on the tablet include Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi direct, AllShareCast, Bluetooth and Micro-USB. The tablet is backed by a 4600mAh battery. Other features on the tablet include Accelerometer, Digital Compass and Proximity sensor.
