A French website MiniMachines, Acer will soon be launching an 8-inch Windows 8 tablet and thereby becoming the first company to offer a Windows 8 tablet with a small form-factor.
The tablet will reportedly be called Acer Iconia W3. As far as the specifications goes, Acer Iconia W3 will come with 1.8Ghz Intel Atom Z2760 processor along with 2GB of RAM. So far there is no information available regarding the display resolution of this tablet.
However, it is expected to come with both front and rear camera. The website has also posted a purported picture of Acer Iconia W3. From this picture it appears that Acer will be providing a keyboard along with Acer Iconia W3 for an add on cost.
The tablet is expected to hit the retail shelves by September 2013. Acer has reportedly asked the MiniMachines to remove the photo their website.
Acer is also said to be working on 7.9-inch Android tablet, which is dubbed as Iconia A1-810. The specifications and photographs of this tablet had been leaked earlier in the month.
As per the leaked information, this tablet will sport a 7.9-inch display with 1024X768p resolution. The tablet will run on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) out of the box. Acer Iconia A1-810 will reportedly be powered by MediaTek's quad-core MT8125 processor clocked at 1.2GHz along with 1GB of RAM. The tablet will come with 16GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD card.
The tablet will sport with 5-megapixel primary camera and VGA front camera and is expected to be launched around Computex, to be held in the month of June.
