Acer has launched its dual-SIM voice-calling tablet, the Iconia Talk S A1-724 - which was introduced last month by the company. The tablet for now is only available in Taiwan at TWD 7990 (roughly Rs. 15,900). The firm has not provided any details about a global rollout.

The Acer Iconia Talk S A1-724 tablet is a dual-SIM supporting device that runs on Android 4.4 KitKat. The tablet features a 7-inch HD (800x1280 pixels) resolution IPS display with Zero Air Gap Anti-Fingerprint screen coating.

A 64-bit 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor (MSM8916) along with 1GB of RAM powers the device, coupled with an Adreno 306 GPU. The Acer Iconia Talk S A1-724 sports a 5-megapixel rear camera, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. 16GB of inbuilt storage is also included, which can expand via a microSD card (up to 128GB).

The connectivity features of the Iconia Talk S are 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS. One of the highlighted features of the Acer-branded tablet are its dual front-facing speakers. The Acer Iconia Talk S A1-724 measures 190x99.8x8.5mm, weighs 275 grams, comes in Blue colour-variant and is backed by a 3780mAh battery.

Acer introduced several tablets at the IFA 2014 event in September. The range of tablets announced in the event was Iconia Tab 8 W, Iconia Tab 10, and Iconia One 8. While the Iconia Tab 8 W runs on Windows 8.1, the Iconia Tab 10 and Iconia One 8 run on Android 4.4 KitKat.
