Google plans to unify Talk, Messenger and Hangouts
Google currently has multiple services for video chat and messaging including Google Talk, Google+ Messenger and Google+ Hangouts. But this is about change as Google plans to club all these messaging applications under one roof. This could result in a unified messenger for both messaging and video chats across all devices.

When questioned by folks at GigaOm at an I/O session of Google+ Hangouts, Google Product Manager Nikhyl Singhal admitted saying, "We have done an incredibly poor job servicing our users here." He also stated that there isn't anything official to announce yet but the company is working on merging their real time communication services under one head. Singhal also shared an important statistic with regards to Hangouts saying, "We do over 10,000 hangouts every day at Google."

When asked about other features debuting for Hangouts, Chee Chew, the person behind the video chat service, revealed that it will be available on every supported device. Cell phone users can start a Hangout in Air bringing mobile social live streaming to Google+ and YouTube.
