Xiaomi is expected to unveil the Mi MIX 2s at Mobile World Congress 2018 in Barcelona later this month. New reports have leaked design renders of the upcoming smartphone. These renders show a nearly bezel-free display that appears to have top and bottom chins slimmer than the ones on the previously launched Mi MIX 2. Launch of the Xiaomi Mi 7 has also reportedly been postponed, and the phone is expected to arrive sometime in April or May this year.
As we mentioned, new leaks and renders have outed the possible design of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2s. A render posted on Weibo shows a design schematic describing key features of the smartphone. The phone is expected to feature Full Screen Display 3.0 technology, a four-sided curved ceramic unibody, 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, 256GB UFS inbuilt storage, a 12-megapixel dual camera, and global 4G LTE bands. The leak also mentions that the Mi MIX 2s will be the world's first phone to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC. The phone could also be Xiaomi's first to sport an under display fingerprint sensor. However, the same leak shows a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor as well.
Another leak, once again from Weibo, reveals what appears to be an official product banner of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2s. The banner mentions specifications including a 5.99-inch display and other details seen in the above mentioned render. An interesting highlight of handset shots in both images is the placement of the front facing camera on the top right part of the display.
All these features and specifications are currently part of speculation and there is no official communication from Xiaomi. We might have to wait till MWC 2018 when Xiaomi is expected to unveil the MIX 2s smartphone.
