Mi 10i has launched as the latest smartphone by Xiaomi in India. The ‘I' in Mi 10i stands for India and the company says that the phone has been customised keeping the Indian audience in mind. The Mi 10i is touted to be the first smartphone in India to come with a Samsung HM2 sensor. It sits alongside the Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, Mi 10 Lite, and Mi 10 Lite Zoom Edition in the range. Key specifications of the Mi 10i include a quad rear camera setup at the back with 108-megapixel Samsung HM2 sensor and a Snapdragon 750G SoC on board. Notably, as tipped in the lead up to the launch, the Mi 10i appears to be a rebranded variant of the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G - which was launched in China in late November.
The Mi 10i (First Impressions) is priced in India at Rs. 20,999 for the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage option, Rs. 21,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage option and Rs. 23,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model. The phone has been made available in Pacific Sunrise, Midnight Black, and Atlantic Blue colour options. The Mi 10i will go on sale on Amazon India, Mi.com, Mi Studio stores, and Mi Home stores from January 7 at 12pm (noon). It will soon be available across 10,000+ retail partners across the country, Xiaomi says. Open sales of the phone will begin from January 8 at 12pm (noon). Launch offers include Jio benefits worth Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 2,000 discount with ICICI Bank credit cards and EMI.
Detailing specifications, the Mi 10i will run on MIUI 12 and feature a 6.67-inch full-HD+ (1,080x2,400 pixels) waterdrop-style notch display with up to 120Hz adaptive sync refresh rate, NTSC 84 percent colour gamut, 450 nits peak brightness, and 1500:01 contrast ratio. Further, the display is HDR and HDR10+ compliant. It also offers Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection at the front and back. There's a host of smart eye protection features as well like Reading Mode 3.0, Sunlight Display 3.0, and TUV Rheinland certification. The phone is powered by the 8nm-based Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G SoC paired with Adreno 619 GPU, up to 8GB RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage.
As for imaging, the Mi 10i has a quad rear camera setup that includes a 108-megapixel Samsung HM2 sensor with 1/1.52-inch sensor size, 9-in-1 pixel binning, 2.1um super pixel, and f/1.75 aperture. There's an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor as well with 120 degree field of view and f/2.2 aperture. Additionally, there is a 2-megapixel macro lens and a 2-megapixel depth lens as well. Rear camera features include six long exposure modes, HDR, Google Lens, night mode 2.0, Pro mode, panorama, raw mode, 4k video recording, and more.
Up front, the Mi 10i has a 16-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.45 aperture and 1.0-micron pixel size. Front camera features include Night Mode 1.0, AI Beautify, AI Portrait Mode, full-HD video recording, and more.
Mi 10i packs a 4,820mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. Xiaomi claims that in just 30 minutes you can achieve up to a 68 percent charge, and the phone goes from 0 to up to 100 percent battery in just 58 minutes. Connectivity options include 5G, USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. The Mi 10i measures at 165.38x76.8x9mm and weighs 214.5 grams. Other features include side-mounted fingerprint sensor, IP53 splash proof rating, dual stereo speakers, IR Blaster, and dual (L1 and L5) band satellite navigation.
