Sony has launched the
Xperia Z3 (

Pictures) and
Xperia Z3 Compact (
Pictures) in India, priced Rs. 51,990 and Rs. 44,990 respectively. The smartphones will be available from Thursday. Both smartphones feature IP65/68 certification, which makes them dust-proof and waterproof. Sony says both smartphones have 4G LTE support for Indian bands.
Both smartphones also feature
PS4 Remote Play, which allows users to stream their PS4 games onto the smartphone over the home Wi-Fi network - this functionality will only be rolled out in November.
Sony says a DualShock 4 Wireless Controller and GCM10 Game Control Mount will be required to play games.

Sony is also bundling 3 months free downloads on Sony Music JIVE, 3 Hollywood movies free download from Privilege Movies, and 3 months Bigflix Subscription with both smartphones. The
SmartWatch 3 and SmartTalk were announced for a December launch in India, however, no pricing has been provided.
First
unveiled at its pre-IFA 2014 event, the Xperia Z3 comes with 5.2-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) Triluminos display and is backed by X-Reality mobile picture engine.The new flagship also retains the 20.7-megapixel autofocus rear camera of its predecessor. The rear camera is again capable of 4K (Ultra-HD) video recording, and features an Exmor RS apart from pulsed LED flash. Also onboard is a 2.2-megapixel front camera.

alongside the Xperia Z3 at the pre-IFA 2014 event, the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box. It features a 4.6-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) Triluminos display with X-Reality engine.
The Xperia Z3 Compact features a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC with Adreno 330 GPU and 2GB of RAM. It packs a 20.7-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and Exmor RS sensor, apart from a 2.2-megapixel front facing camera, just like the Xperia Z3.
