  • This Rs. 4,000 price slash comes just one month after launch

Just a month after the 6GB RAM/ 128GB variant launch, Samsung has now slashed the price of its Galaxy S8+ smartphone. The 128GB Samsung Galaxy S8+ variant that was launched in India in June for Rs. 74,900, is now available on Samsung’s official online store for Rs. 70, 900. This gives it a price slash of Rs. 4,000 in just one month since launch.

Whether this is a temporary price slash or a permanent one remains to be seen. We have contacted Samsung for clarification and will update this copy as soon as we hear back. Notably, established Mumbai-based offline retailer Mahesh Telecom claims that the new price is the new MOP - indicating a permanent price cut. Apart from the price cut, Samsung also lists many offers on the purchase of the 128GB variant from the online store. Reliance Jio is offering double data to all existing and new subscribers by recharging for plans of Rs. 309 and Rs. 509. The double data is credited to the users account within 48 hours, and will reflect in the My Jio app.

There’s also an exchange offer listed that allows you to get further discount on swapping your old smartphone for a new one. HDFC is offering up to Rs. 3,000 cashback on its cards, and Samsung is also bundling a wireless charger worth Rs. 4,499 for free with the Samsung Galaxy S8+ purchase. Lastly, it is also offering a No Cost EMI option that start from Rs.4824.89/month.

Interestingly, the price slash is not reflecting on Flipkart, where the smartphone was also made available at launch. Flipkart also lists the No Cost EMI offer, Jio offer, and the free wireless charger offer on its site.
