Samsung Galaxy Note III and LG Optimus G2 to come with 3GB RAM: Report
Samsung Galaxy Note III, the next iteration of Samsung's popular Note series large screen phone and LG's next flagship, the Optimus G2, will come with 3GB of RAM if a new report is to be believed.

According to a report by Korean publication Hankyung (or The Korean Economic Daily) the Samsung Galaxy Note III and the LG Optimus G2 will come with 3GB of RAM. The same information was shared by Sam Mobile in June when it tweeted about the Galaxy Note III's purported specifications.

Another report by AndroidBeat speculates that Samsung is putting a 3GB RAM module instead of a 4GB one due to industry shortage.

A recent report suggests that the Samsung Galaxy Note III will be launched on September 4, 2013. It mentions that Samsung will hold an Unpacked event on September 4 to unveil the Note III in Berlin before the IFA 2013 officially kicks off.

Evan Blass or @evleaks had earlier suggested that the Samsung Galaxy Note III will come with a 5.7-inch display contradicting prior news reports that claimed that the phablet will come with a 5.99-inch full-HD Super AMOLED display with diamond pixel structure.

Previous rumours also mentioned that this phablet will be the first device by Samsung to sport a plastic OLED display which would be thinner than the one on Galaxy Note II and come with an RGB stripe.

The other rumoured specifications for Samsung Galaxy Note III include an Exynos 5 octa-core processor, Mali 450 GPU with 8 cores and 3GB of RAM. It's also rumoured that the successor to Samsung Galaxy Note II will feature a 13-megapixel rear camera.

Meanwhile, LG has also sent out invites for an August 7 event in New York City where it is expected to reveal the LG Optimus G2 smartphone, which could start retailing from the third quarter of 2013. It would be interesting to see if the new smartphone also features 3GB of RAM.

As per past leaks, LG Optimus G2 smartphone is expected to come with a 5.5-inch full-HD display. The smartphone is also likely to pack in an Adreno 330 GPU. It might come with a 13-megapixel snapper and run Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean), layered with LG's own Optimus UI.
