Salora unveils 4.5-inch POWERMaxx with Android 4.0 for Rs. 15,999

Consumer electronics manufacturer Salora is the latest company jump into the Indian smartphone arena with the launch of POWERMaxx, a dual-SIM (GSM + WCDMA) Android-based device priced at Rs. 15,999. It is available at various stores across the country and online retailers like Flipkart, Infibeam and Snapdeal.

At just 10.9mm, the POWERMaxx sports a 4.5-inch IPS LCD (qHD) display with a resolution of 960X540 pixels and runs on Android 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich). The company says it is upgradable to Android Jelly Bean, but did not reveal any further details regarding when and how the updated will be available.

The smartphone features an 8-megapixel rear auto focus camera capable of 720p video recording. There's a 1.3-megapixel front camera as well. In addition, the camera also supports feature such as autofocus, optical image stabilisation, panorama view, speed multi-shot, time lapse video, facial beautify, smile shutter and automatic ambient detection etc.

Under the hood, the device packs in a Cortex-A9 1GHz dual-core processor with 512MB RAM and 4GB of on-board storage expandable up to 32GB via microSD. It comes with a huge 3,200mAh battery claiming longer hours of talk time and multimedia usage.

The POWERMaxx boats connectivity options like Wi-Fi, 3G and Bluetooth. The company has also incorporated a dual-mic design aiming at ambient noise cancellation.

Speaking on the occasion of the launch, Gopal Kumar Jiwarajka, Chairman & Managing Director, Salora International Ltd, "We are extremely excited on the launch of Salora Powermaxx.
