Realme X2 and Realme Buds Air launch event kicked off with the company's India CEO Madhav Sheth on the stage. Sheth noted that this is the last launch of the company this year. He claimed that the company's Realme X2 Pro and Realme 5s have received positive feedback from the consumers. Sheth revealed that Realme UI that is based on ColorOS 7 and coming to the company's smartphones will bring a bright and dynamic look, clean UI, and redesigned icons.
Sheth revealed Realme will focus on connected ecosystem in 2020, the four pillars of which are smartphones, software, IoT products, and accessories. In the same bid, the company announced the Realme Paysa platform that is the company's financial services platform. It will offer lending, savings and protection, payments, and financial tools.
Sheth then called Realme's Sreehari on the stage to detail the Realme Buds Air. These are the company's first truly wireless earbuds. The Realme Buds Air come with features like auto-connection, Google fast pair protocol support, low-latency, dual channel real-time transmission, gaming mode, two microphones, and 12mm bass boost driver.
Realme Buds Air also come with intelligent touch and easy control. The earbuds offer 3 hours music playback on a single charge that can be increased to 17 hours using the extra charge in the charging case. The Realme Buds Ear support wireless charging as well as regular cable using the USB Type-C port. These earbuds will be offered in three colour options and work with both Android phones and iPhone models.
Sreehari then invited Realme's Nidhi Bhatia to talk about the Realme X2 smartphone. Realme X2 will be offered in Pearl White, Pearl Blue, and Pearl Green colour options. The phone packs a quad rear camera setup that is headlined by the 64-megapixel main camera. The setup also houses a wide-angle camera, a macro camera, and a depth sensor. On the front, the Realme X2 will include a 32-megapixel selfie shooter.
Additionally, Realme is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G SoC and includes 4,000mAh battery with fast charging support, a 6.4-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display, and up to 8GB of RAM.
Then, to detail the Realme Paysa, Realme's Varun Sridhar joined the stage. Realme Paysa will include services like lending, savings products, payments, and financial tools. It is being launched in beta today as an app via Google Play Store. The app will be offered to all Android phone users and it will come pre-loaded on Realme phones.
Sridhar revealed that Realme Paysa beta version will provide free credit reports to its users three times. The users of the app will also be able to get personal loans up to Rs. 100,000 with a completely digital process using minimum documents. Loans over Rs. 100,000, additional documentation will be needed and a physical verification. Realme Paysa will also offer business loans up to Rs. 500,000 with minimal documentation. Additionally, the app's beta version includes phone screen insurance service.
According to Sridhar, Realise Paysa data will be stored in India and will use the highest standards of data security.
Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth then returned to the stage to reveal the pricing of the Realme X2 and Realme Buds Air. The Realme Buds Air will retail at Rs. 3,999 in the country. The first sale is scheduled for 2pm today and the next sale will take place on December 23 via Flipkart and Realme.com
Realme X2 price starts at Rs. 16,999 for the base 4GB + 64GB variant and goes up to Rs. 19,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant. First sale for Realme X2 will take place on December 20 at 12 noon. In terms of the sale offers, Realme will offer flat Rs. 1500 cashback on payment made using ICICI Bank credit cards, benefits worth Rs. 11,500 from Reliance Jio, no-cost EMI options and more.
