Motorola has finally revealed plans for its Moto X smartphone's Android 4.4 KitKat update. While announcing the Moto G during Wednesday's event in Sao Paulo, Dennis Woodside, Motorola's CEO also confirmed the software update for Moto X.

However, Woodside did not reveal the exact date for the Android 4.4 KitKat update's rollout, but said that the Moto X will get it 'in a matter of weeks.'

Google unveiled the Moto X, a customisable Android smartphone in August this year. The smartphone natively ran Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

The Moto X features a 4.7-inch display with a resolution of 720x1280 pixels. It is powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960Pro Snapdragon processor along with 2GB of RAM. There is 16GB of inbuilt storage. It also sports a 10-megapixel rear camera accompanied by an LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The Moto X also features a shake gesture that directly opens the phone's camera app. Users can customise the body of the Moto X and choose from 18 back covers, different colour accents for the ring around the camera lens, accents around the volume and on-off buttons and get a personal message etched at the back of the phone.

On Wednesday, Motorola unveiled its latest budget smartphone, the Moto G. The Google-owned handset maker announced that the Moto G will be sold through the company's website in the US, with no contract, no SIM lock and an unlockable bootloader at $179 (Rs. 11,300 approximately) for the 8GB storage model, while the 16GB variant will be available at $199 (Rs. 12,600 approximately). Notably, there is no option for expandable storage available on Moto X. Interestingly, Motorola also confirmed that it will be re-entering the Indian market with the Moto G smartphone, with the launch expected in "early-January 2014".

Further, a new report has revealed that the Motorola Moto G dual-SIM variant will be making its way to the Indian market, as well as Brazil.
