The domestic handset maker has also collaborated with Airtel to offer bundled 'Double Data' offer to its 3G and 4G consumers.
The highlight of the Micromax Canvas Xpress 4G at the price is 4G LTE support, specifically Cat. 4 LTE with download speeds of up to 150Mbps. Micromax has lately been pushing 4G-enabled smartphones in the Indian market. The company initially announced the Canvas Blaze 4G, Canvas Fire 4G, and Canvas Play 4G in September. This was followed by the launch of the Canvas 5 smartphone priced at Rs. 11,999 earlier this month. The company recently also introduced the Canvas Blaze 4G+ by listing it on the company site.
The Canvas Xpress 4G is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) smartphone which runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box. It comes with a 5-inch (720x1280 pixels) HD IPS display. The smartphone is powered by a 1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735P processor coupled with 2GB of RAM
It bears 8GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB). The Canvas Xpress 4G sports an 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash, while there is a secondary 2-megapixel front-facing fixed-focus camera also on board.
On the connectivity front, the Canvas Xpress 4G offers 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth options, apart from 4G. The smartphone packs a 2000mAh battery.
