LG G Flex curved smartphone due in November, Nexus 5 by end of October: Report

LG is set to unveil its first curved display smartphone, the 'G Flex' next month, while the long-rumoured Nexus 5 will be launched by the end of this month, a report claims.

Korean publication, Etnews has revealed in a report that LG, in an attempt to gain both technological and market leadership, will launch its first smartphone mounted with curved display next month. The report cites a company insider and claims that the curved display smartphone's are being developed according to its release schedules.

While Samsung's Galaxy Round was released through a single carrier in Korea and has been exclusive to Korea till now, LG plans to launch its curved display smartphone through all three mobile carriers in the country and might release it globally later, suggests the report.

Further, the report hints that the much-anticipated Nexus 5 might launch by end of this month. The report reveals that the Nexus 5 smartphone has been developed by LG and will be released through Google. However, the report does not reveal any specific date for the launch of the alleged Nexus 5.

Moreover, the report also suggests that the South Korean giant will be launching its first Firefox OS smartphone next month, which tips-off that the company might unveil both the curved display smartphone and the Firefox OS device together at an event.

Earlier this year, an LG executive confirmed that the company has been working on Firefox-based devices which might be ready for launch in the first quarter of 2014.

However, the new report does not reveal anything about the pricing, hardware specifications and availability details of the rumoured LG 'G Flex', much-anticipated Nexus 5 and announced Firefox OS smartphones.

Recently, LG's alleged 'G Flex' smartphone was leaked in press renders that revealed it would sport a 6-inch curved display.

Earlier on Thursday, a report claimed the Google might release Android 4.4, the latest iteration of its mobile and tablet operating system, on October 28.
