Looks like LG is planning to stay in the limelight for a significant portion of the year, first with its newly announced LG G3 flagship, and now, by announcing the next versions of the G Flex and Vu handsets - the G Flex 2 and Vu 4.
LG G3 has not yet gone off the news and the Korean tech firm has already confirmed the launch of the G Flex 2 and Vu 4 smartphone and phablet devices for the second half of this year. LG announced the news in a press conference in Seoul parallel to the launch of LG G3, reports IT Today Korea (via Phonearena).
To recall, LG G Flex (Review | Pictures) was one of the first smartphone's to live up to the name of 'flexible display' along with an innovative 'self-healing' back panel.
LG did not mention any other details of the upcoming LG G Flex 2 and Vu 4 smartphones at the event, so until the firm officially reveals the handsets, we would be depending on leaks and rumours. Speculation for the G Flex 2 is already pointing towards a better display and a unique aspect ratio.
The H2 2014 launch of the G Flex 2 contradicts the release date that was leaked by @evleaks last week. The tipster tweeted "LG G Flex 2 coming mid-Q1 2015, possibly with a feature even more unique than self-healing plastic."
Like LG G Flex, the Vu 3 phablet device failed to make a major mark in the markets. We expect the Vu 4 to at least include full-HD screen resolution as its predecessor came with a 960x1280 pixel resolution.
Since the G Flex and Vu 3 were correspondingly introduced in October and September last year, we assume both G Flex and Vu 4 will arrive in the same period this year.
