HTC has been pretty silent since the One series unveiling at Mobile World Congress earlier this year, but that might be changing soon. Pictures of an unreleased HTC Proto have leaked online, suggesting the smartphone could be closer to the launch.

According to a report in The Verge, which got hold of these images, HTC Proto will feature 4-inch WVGA display, 5-megapixel camera, and 1GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor.

The specifications suggest a One V successor, but the design is more like Desire C. Even a previous report has stated that the smartphone might be a part of company's Desire series.

The smartphone will be 9.62mm-thick, and will come pre-loaded with Ice Cream Sandwich. Other rumoured specifications 768MB RAM, 4GB of user accessible internal storage, Sense 4.0 on-board, 1,650mAh battery, microSIM card slot, microSD slot, Beats Audio, Bluetooth, and 5MP rear camera with LED flash.

We are expecting the smartphone to be announced at the upcoming IFA trade fair, which is going to see various big launches from Sony and Samsung.
