Engadget Chinese reports that the phone is powered by a quad-core 1.9GHz Snapdragon 600 alongside 2GB of RAM. It comes with quad-band HSPA/WCDMA radio and a 3,200 mAh battery. It has 16GB of internal storage that is expandable through a microSD card slot. Also, like its predecessor, HTC Butterfly S comes with a 5-inch screen with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. The smartphone would run on Android Jelly Bean.
The smartphone follows HTC One's legacy of a 4-megapixel UltraPixel camera the Zoe camera software feature. It also has a 2.1-megapixel front facing camera with an 88 degree wide-angle lens.
As suggested by previous leaks, the smartphone comes with Beats Audio integration and runs HTC's own Sense 5 UI with Blinkfeed and BoomSound just like the HTC One. The device also includes other peripheral connectivity including Wi-Fi 802.11 a /ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and infrared remote control.
After HTC One, HTC Butterfly S seems to be the next major launch from the Taiwanese manufacturer. The processor on-board the device is faster than the HTC One. Also, the battery capacity and the microSD expansion features might be an additional advantage for certain users. But then these hardware upgrades also result in an added weight to the device, making it heavier than the HTC One.
The device will be released in Taiwan carrying a price tag of NT $22,900 (approximately Rs. 45,000). As of now, there is no information with regard to availability or pricing of the device in other regions.
