The Celkon S1 smartphone offers dual-SIM (GSM-GSM) support, and features a 5-inch OGS IPS display with a 1080x1920 (FWVGA) pixels resolution. A quad-core processor powers the device, clocked at 1.5GHz (unspecified chipset), along with 1GB of RAM.
The smartphone features a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash, while there is an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The Celkon S1 smartphone comes with 16GB inbuilt storage, while there is no word on expandable storage.
The Celkon S1 smartphone supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Micro-USB, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack and 3G connectivity options. It is powered by a 2300mAh battery, and is available in Black colour only. The smartphone weighs 137 grams.
BlackBerry had announced that its cross-platform messaging app, BBM, would now come preinstalled on Android smartphones from domestic brand, Celkon in November last year. Unfortunately, the company does not detail anything about the BBM preinstalled app on the Celkon S1 smartphone.
Earlier, Celkon Mobiles had launched its AR Rahman-themed smartphone, the AR40 at Rs. 5,999, under the RahmanIshq series.
The AR40 runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box and supports FOTA (firmware-over-the-air). The Celkon RahmanIshq AR40 comes with a 4-inch display (unspecified resolution) and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor. The smartphones comes with 512MB of RAM and includes 4GB of inbuilt storage, further expandable up to 32GB with microSD card.
Celkon had also launched the AR45 and AR50 smartphones under RahmanIshq series last year.
