HTC has confirmed that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update is now rolling out to HTC One aka HTC One (M7), specifically, the unlocked and Developer Edition variants. HTC's VP of Product Management Mo Versi in a tweet early on Friday confirmed the news.

Notably, the HTC One will receive Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update with Sense 6 UI. Unfortunately, the Taiwanese company is yet to reveal the changelog for Android Lollipop update of the HTC One.

A Twitter user however has posted screenshot of the update notification on the HTC One and shows the update comes with build number 7.17.1540.7 and is over 700MB in size.

HTC One Developer Edition and unlocked model users can check for available OTA updates under their handsets' Settings > About phone section. Android 5.0 Lollipop, besides adding Material Design from Google, also includes new Android 5.0 Lollipop lock screen, notification tray along and enhanced privacy features. Improvements to search function and support for multiple pages in recent apps are also included in the update.

It's worth mentioning that HTC had initially promised to deliver Android 5.0 Lollipop update for both the HTC One and One (M8) within 90 days of receiving the final software from Google. The company in December even claimed to be on track with the Android Lollipop update. However, HTC's first large scale rollout of Android 5.0 Lollipop only started in mid-January with HTC One (M8) Developer Edition and unlocked versions.

Back in December, Android 5.0 Lollipop started rolling out to HTC One and One (M8) Google Play edition devices.

The HTC devices scheduled to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop, apart from HTC One and One (M8), include the HTC One mini and the HTC One mini 2. Some of the other HTC handsets expected to receive Lollipop update include the HTC Desire 816, One Max, and Butterfly S, according to a leaked company update roadmap.
