In this weekly column, we talk to the men and women who are leading India in their field, and get a glimpse of how they work and which gadgets they're dreaming about. Vikas Jain, co-founder of Micromax, tells us what devices he can't do without, and how technology has changed the way he works.
Describe your technology setup - what computer/ phone/ tablet/ camera/ gaming console/ other gadgets do you use?
I use different devices for each of those roles. My PC is an Apple Macbook Air. I use a Micromax Canvas Knight as my phone, and I have a Canon EOS 7D camera. I have an Xbox 360 for gaming, with the Kinect.
What are three apps (mobile/ tablet or PC/ Mac) you couldn't live without?
There are only two I can't live without - Reuters, and Inside.
What is one gadget (other than your phone) you never travel without?
My tablet [unspecified].
What is your dream gadget/ technology setup?
A device which fulfils the necessary voice and data requirement as well as enables health monitoring.
How has technology changed the way in which you work?
Technology has helped me to stay more connected, more informed and helps in faster communication.
