Roposo
Delhi-based Roposo, a mobile-first platform to discover trending fashion items, has raised $15 million (roughly Rs. 98 crores) from Tiger Global, ET reported. Founded by Mayank Bhangadia and Avinash Saxena, ex-CTO at Zomato, the app lets users browse through curated lists and recommended products from various e-commerce sites. The platform claims over 1 million app downloads, and over 100,000 selfie stories posted on the site in June. The firm had raised $5 million in March this year, following a seed funding round from Flipkart's Binny Bansal and India Quotient.
Orobind
Bengaluru-based Orobind, a mobile app that lets users discover and book a personal fitness coach, has raised pre-Series A funding. Harpreet Singh Grover, co-founder, Cocubes; Lalit Mangal, co-founder, CommonFloor.com, and Zishaan Hayath, Toppr.com co-founder, also participated in this round along with a new set of unnamed investors, Techcircle reported. Founded in 2014 by IIT alumnus Satya Vyas and Shubhanshu Srivastava, Orobind's app provides ratings and reviews of personal fitness coaches, apart from visualisations on fitness metrics.
Fixy
Mumbai-based Fixy, an on demand provider of maintenance services, has raised seed funding from members of VentureNursery, an angel-backed accelerator for startups, VCCircle reported. Founded by Tufayl Merchant and Nabeel Merchant in 2014, the startup provides maintenance services such as cleaning, carpentry, plumbing, and repairing of electrical fixtures and home appliances.
HyperVerge
HyperVerge, a Silicon Valley-based deep-learning startup with offices in Palo Alto, Bangalore and Chennai has raised $1 million (roughly Rs. 6.5 crores) in seed funding from several US venture capital firms, including NEA, Milliways Ventures, and Naya Ventures, NextBigWhat reported. Founded by IIT-Madras graduates in 2014, HyperVerge uses deep learning algorithms to process consumer images and videos on the cloud, based on image analysis and processing engines that incorporate facial recognition, scene recognition, and other AI features.
MSM Box
Delhi-based subscription service for beauty products, MSM Box, has raised an undisclosed amount in seed funding from angel investor Rohit Goel, VC Circle reported. A part of World One Retail, the website began as a beauty and fashion blog, and launched its subscription-based commerce services in 2014. The firm has two products - MSM Express Box, priced at Rs. 495 per month, and MSM Select Box, priced at Rs. 995 per month.
YourStory
Bengaluru-based YourStory Media Pvt. Ltd, which operates YourStory.com, a news portal that covers startups and investment activity, has raised $5 million (roughly Rs. 33 crores) Series A funding from Ratan Tata, Kalaari Capital, Qualcomm Ventures, and former Infosys board member T V Mohandas Pai, VC Circle reported. Founded by Shradha Sharma in 2008, the portal has published over 20,000 stories of entrepreneurs. The firm plans to launch India's first tech product that will publish original stories in Hindi, Telugu, Bangla, Kannada, Tamil and Marathi.
