IMDb is easily the most popular entertainment database website. The site has become a staple for anyone who wants any information on movies, TV shows, and personalities. Col Needham, founder and CEO of IMDb, announced on Thursday the launch of www.imdb.com/india - a dedicated Indian page to cater to entertainment fans in the country.

Apart from providing a database of Indian movies and TV shows, the Indian page of IMDb will have a variety of other features such as a "What's Trending in India" section found via www.imdb.com/india/trending or through the app. The "Trending" section will keep viewers updated on everything that's trending in the Indian scene which includes upcoming movies across a number of regions.

Additionally, the trending section also shows what's currently popular on Amazon Prime Video. Meanwhile, movies and shows on Amazon Prime Video are listed with IMDb ratings.

While it was possible to search for Indian movies and shows in IMDb's international site, the Indian site promises to have a larger catalogue and a lot more detail and India-centric features for the Indian audience. IMDb's "Top Rated Indian Movies" list includes movies in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Bengali. The "Quizzes" section will test you knowledge on movies, shows, actors - both domestic and international.

In a note announcing the launch of the site, Needham said, "I encourage you to visit IMDb and join the community of passionate movie fans across the world. I have 234 Indian movies on my watchlist currently, and my most memorable Indian film is 3 Idiots (2009). What is yours? Tell us using the hashtag #IMDbIndia."
