Spider-Man PS4 has been out since September 7 and while the standard edition of the game had made it to India on time, the Spider-Man PS4 Special and Collector's Editions were missing in action. Thanks to logistical issues the Spider-Man PS4 Special Edition never made it to India and Gadgets 360 exclusively reported that while the Spider-Man PS4 Special Edition was cancelled for the country, the Spider-Man PS4 Collector's Edition would make it to India at a later date. And that date is today. Several retailers speaking to Gadgets 360 have confirmed that Sony India has sent them stock of the Spider-Man PS4 Collector's Edition and we even managed to pick one up ourselves. That said, it's in limited supply with Sony India more than happy to cancel orders of stores that no longer want it in order to meet demand at other outlets. The Spider-Man Collector's Edition price is Rs. 9,999. It's more expensive than the God of War Collector's Edition that retailed for Rs. 9,490. This may have to do with the statue on offer which could be of a superior build quality compared to past collector's editions. The statue hasn't been revealed yet due to possible spoilers. That hasn't stopped it from being sold out internationally though. It comes with the following:
The Spider-Man PS4 Collector's Edition joins the Limited Edition Spider-Man PS4 Pro console. The rest of the world received this special PS4 Pro variant on the Spider-Man PS4 release date of September 7, Sony India has only brought it to the country right now. And much like the God of War PS4 Pro console, it's not cheap. The Limited Edition Spider-Man PS4 Pro console price is Rs. 49,690. It includes a fully customised 'Amazing Red' 1TB PS4 Pro console featuring the iconic Spider-Man logo, a matching DualShock 4 wireless controller, Spider-Man game on Blu-ray disc, and a PlayStation Store download voucher for The City That Never Sleeps DLC. Like most collector's edition consoles, expect this to be on sale in limited quantities. Gadgets 360 has heard between 70 and 80 units have made it to the country. Check your local game store or online stores like Flipkart, which has it listed at the moment.
Previously, Sony India denied any commitments around Spider-Man PS4 India pre-orders, stating it "never communicated any pre-order bonuses to any online or offline retailers in India."
And while Sony says it has no responsibility, it didn't do anything to prevent the wrong information from going up in the first place. The company has been actively policing India Spider-Man PS4 listings to prevent any pre-order discounts, retailers tell us, and it was aware of what was listed online.
