That Microsoft is bringing Xbox Live games to
Windows 8 is well known. Now, Major Nelson, Director of Programming for the Microsoft gaming network Xbox Live, has shared on his personal blog, the first set of these games.
The list has 40 titles from several publishers like Rovio, Microsoft Studios, Miniclip, Gameloft, ZeptoLab, Glu Mobile, Halfbrick Studios and others. Most of these games will be available once the Windows OS launches on October 26. More titles will be released throughout the holiday season.
Games will include various genres that will be playable on any Windows 8 PC, laptop, or tablet. They will be featured in the pre-installed Windows 8 Xbox Games app and also be available in the Windows 8 Store. Further, all Xbox games for Windows 8 will have Xbox Achievements, along with other Xbox features like leaderboards, multiplayer modes and connecting with friends and more.
Recently, the company announced a permanent price cut for the
Kinect and brought it down to $109.99 in the US. It also announced the Xbox 360 Essentials Pack that will retail for $79.99 and include the Xbox 360 Controller, Media Remote Control, HDMI Cable and a three-month long Xbox LIVE Gold Membership.
