About Star Wars: Attack of the Clones Movie (2002)

The second part of the Star Wars prequel trilogy and so it is also known as Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones.

Ten years after the battle of Republic and The Phantom Menace, the Republic continues to be in chaos and strife.

Thousands of planetary systems and powerful corporate alliances slowly secede from the Galactic Republic and join the newly-formed Confederacy of Independent Systems, led by former Jedi Master Count Dooku (Christopher Lee).

The galaxy is facing new threats that even the Jedi cannot stem, while Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) is busy investigating a mysterious assassination attempt on Senator Padmé Amidala (Natalie Portman).

During the investigation, Obi-Wan Kenobi discovers the clone army crafted for the Jedi and the truth behind the Separatist movement. While Obi-Wan Kenobi's apprentice Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) is assigned to protect Amidala, he develops a secret relationship with her.

Long term plans and powerful forces lead to the onset of the Clone Wars — hinting at signs of the beginning of the end of the Republic.
