Mobile payments network company Mobikwik has entered into a partnership with Uber India, which has re-introduced card payments for Indian users, the company said in a statement on Monday.

This tie-up will enable Uber to use MobiKwik for powering its new credit and debit card payments from customers.

"Our solution takes the complexity out of mobile payments, making them easy and seamless," Bipin Preet Singh, founder and chief executive officer, MobiKwik, said.

The users can just tap on the credit card option, add their credit or debit card details and make a fully secure two-factor authenticated (2FA) payment powered by MobiKwik, the company claimed.

The new MobiKwik card payment service has been live for all Android users for more than a week whilst iOS users will get the feature via an update in the coming weeks, the statement said.

MobiKwik recently tied up with Big Bazaar to power cashless payments through its mobile wallet service. The tie-up will be extended to other Future Group entities like Central, Brand Factory, Home Town and e-Zone in the coming quarter.

"MobiKwik wallet users can pay through their mobile at any Big Bazaar payment counter by sharing their registered MobiKwik mobile number and an one-time-password (OTP) for verification of the transaction," MobiKwik said in a statement.

Separately, Uber over the weekend announced that it had re-introduced credit card payments in India. Uber says it is following regulations laid out by RBI, with the stipulated two factor authentication system built into the taxi-hailing app.
