Google has updated its Maps application for iOS with a new feature, which aims to make driving easy by staying updated with traffic information without looking at the map every time. The search giant has also updated Google Drive for both Android and iOS.

The update for Google Maps for iOS v4.12.0 would now speak traffic alerts under the Navigation section, like Android. The app would tell the driver about congestion and incidents in the route and the traffic description would give them summary of traffic on the route before starting. The update also brings the ability for users to easily add new and missing businesses right from the sidebar. The latest version of Google Maps for iOS is available to download.

Google in addition also updated its Google Drive cloud storage applications for both Android and iOS. Both OS users would now get notifications when a file has been shared with them. The notification alert also gives a link to directly access the particular folder where the shared file is saved. The notifications would also let the file or folder owner know when someone requests access to the content. The option to deactivate the notifications feature would also be present under the Settings option.

For iOS, the Google Drive v4.3 brings "more consistent sharing experience in Drive across platforms," as per Google. The update brings the ability to add custom messages to recipients directly from the app when sharing a file. One can even reverse sort files and folders by name and date. The updated app is available to download from App Store. As for Android, the updated Google Drive app would let users view shared files even without a Google account. The latest app version would hit Google Play soon.
