Personally Tech is our weekly look at the apps and gadgets that people from different walks of life love and can't live without. This week, we talk to Faisal Husain, the global founder and CEO of Synechron, and IT company that makes software for financial institutions around the world, such as Merill Lynch and Dun and Bradstreet.

While Faisal talked about being more comfortable with Apple devices, he admitted that his dream gadget was Google Glass, even though he feels that the technology will take time to mature.

Describe your technology setup - what computer/ phone/ tablet/ camera/ gaming console/ other gadgets do you use?
Faisal Husain: I am using an iPhone 6 Plus as my smartphone. With a range of interesting and useful apps, it is almost impossible to put it aside. I am dependent on my smartphone and on my laptop for work. I use a Macbook Air as my laptop, as I am comfortable with Apple devices.

What are three apps (mobile/ tablet or PC/ Mac) you couldn't live without?
Faisal Husain: There are too many, but there are some which get used most. For office work, we rely heavily on Yammer for communications. I also depend on WhatsApp for keeping in touch with family and friends, while Uber is useful for getting a cab in a jiffy when I am traveling.

What is one gadget (other than your phone) you never travel without?
Faisal Husain: My Macbook Air 11". I'm not an iPad user so I carry my reliable laptop with me.

What is your dream gadget/ technology setup?
Faisal Husain: I'm very excited by Google Glass, though I think they need more time to mature. I definitely think this is the future - computing being integrated into our ears and eyes.

How has technology changed the way in which you work?
Faisal Husain: Technology is constantly evolving and I am not surprised at the speed! It's been a wonderful learning to actually witness the transition. I think this paradigm shift is due to innovative practices that the corporations have adopted. The way data is generated, managed, processed, shared and dissected is definitely the next big thing.
