YouTube/Electronic ArtsElectronic Arts has made some amazing games since 1982, but it has also made some mistakes along the way. Here are 7 of them we don't want to see again

Lootboxes in Star Wars Battlefront Series
Battlefront was barebones when it first came out and it took a lot of time to fill it up with content. To make things worse, EA brought loot boxes to its sequel. Yes, you had to pay Rs. 6,000 to get Darth Vader, without the guarantee of finding it unlocked!
YouTube/EA Star WarsIt's hard to not laugh at this, but EA defended the loot boxes in Star Wars Battlefront by saying “it provides a sense of pride and accomplishment for unlocking heroes”. And it won the Guinness World Record for the most downvoted Reddit comment ever.

SimCity (2013) Server Issues
SimCity games are known to be awesome, yet this particular always-online game faced massive backlash because of EA's server issues. And this basically killed the entire franchise.

Mass Effect Andromeda
EA spent five years developing this hot soupy mess of a game. It had a terrible storyline, only five planets to explore and all of them had the same creatures. All this was because a highly inexperienced lot developed the game.

Anthem
So, EA brought the people who worked on previous Mass Effect games to come up with this live services game, without a compelling story. Yeah, that's what they did while Mass Effect Andromeda was being developed. Oh, and they also filled it up with loot boxes.

Loot Boxes in Everything, Even Kids Games
Loot boxes basically operate on the same functioning as slot machines do — you pay to open the box and there's a “probability” of you receiving the item you want. When you add this in a game like Fifa, it becomes an issue because it's rated for all ages.

Buying and Ending Studios
Major studios like Bullfrog Productions, Westwood Studios, NuFX, DICE, Maxis and Pandemic Studios are makers of major titles, but they were all killed off by EA at some point of time.
