The first smartwatch from Xiaomi is targeted at kids and comes with tons of features that will help parents keep a track of the child. The company last month announce it would to unveil its first smartwatch for adults in the second half of this year.
Some of the highlight features of the Mi Bunny smartwatch include GPS (Global Positioning System) connectivity alongside Glonass and Wi-Fi. The smartwatch supports voice calls and comes with an embedded SIM card. The device can store up to 6 family members' numbers and communicate with them free. The company says when the child is not around; the family members can interact through the app. The smartwatch can make or receive calls from family members through just one tap.
One of the highlight features of the new Xiaomi smartwatch for kids is it allows parents to mark safety area via their smartphones such as the area surrounding the house, and route to and from school among others. Parents can monitor location of child via the smartwatch and in case, if they leave the preset area, parents will receive a notification.
Some of the additional features of the Mi Bunny smartwatch include an SOS button for panic situations where a distress signal is sent to parents; calls from strangers are rejected automatically, and the smartwatch is also waterproof. The device also tracks the quality of sleep of kids. The smartwatch app can automatic record daily activities and can record it continuously for three months.
The Mi Bunny smartwatch sports a LED dot matrix display and comes with Corning liquid silicone strap. It comes with 300mAh battery which is claimed to offer a standby time of up to 6 days. The Mi Bunny smartwatch will be compatible with devices running Android 4.2 and above, as well as iOS 8 and above. The smartwatch will be available in Blue and Pink colours.
