TomTom, a popular navigation and mapping company, on Thursday launched its TomTom Spark fitness watch range in India. The range is available from leading online portals in different variants. TomTom Spark GPS fitness watch, Spark Cardio GPS fitness watch, and Spark Music GPS fitness watch are priced at Rs. 13,999, Rs. 17,999, Rs. 17,999 respectively. The company is also offering the variants in bundles as well. While the Spark Cardio+Music GPS fitness watch is for Rs. 21,999, the Spark Music GPS fitness watch+headphones bundle, and Spark Music GPS fitness watch+headphones bundle are for Rs. 21,999 and Rs. 25,999 respectively.
The GPS-enabled wearable device features music player and can store up to 3GB of music. It can also stream the audio straight to the Bluetooth-enabled headphones, says the company. The fitness band includes 'Running Trax', which has 30 minutes of "motivating, high energy, upbeat dance anthems" curated by Ministry of Sound. Music playlists from iTunes and Windows Media Player can also be downloaded on the TomTom Spark.
Besides its focus on offering easy music access, the Spark like other fitness bands can track the wearer's steps, active minutes, distance, calories burned and sleep duration. Also possible is to set and track these statistics on the TomTom MySports app, as well as RunKeeper, Nike+, and more.
Furthermore, the TomTom Spark includes a heart rate monitor alongside a multi-sport mode, using which a wearer can track both indoor and outdoor sporting activities including running, cycling, swimming, treadmill, and gym workouts.
"Our internal study revealed that over 75% of people listen to music while they work out and many use a smartphone to do so. We have solved this uncomfortable problem with the integrated music player in the TomTom Spark. Now you can leave your phone at home and listen to your favourite playlists directly from your wrist," said Peter Frans, Co-founder of TomTom International B.V.
