Samsung Mobile shared the teaser video on Wednesday titled 'The new Samsung Gear S2' which shows the smartwatch sporting round casing and a metal band. The Gear S2 smartwatch clearly features a refreshed design from its predecessors.
The 30-second video shows Samsung's upcoming smartwatch in full glory and also various watch faces. The video also shows apps for weather, stopwatch, tracking, and time zone. A heart rate sensor is confirmed in the Gear S2 smartwatch. Unfortunately, it's not clear as of now whether the Gear S2 was running Tizen OS or will finally run Google's Android Wear for its new smartwatch. To recall however, the company had first officially tipped the existence of the smarpthone at its Tizen Developer Summit in Bengaluru last month with the release of the Tizen 2.3.1 SDK that allowed developers to make apps for circular smartwatches, and, to use a rotating bezel for input.
Last week, Samsung teased its Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch showing some watch faces alongside a couple of official images, giving an idea of its design. The round dial for the Gear S2 was seen to be much like the Moto 360 and LG Watch Urbane along with a metal body. There is no clarity whether the Gear S2 will be compatible with only Samsung devices or will support all types of devices.
Samsung will be giving more details about its Gear S2 smartwatch at its pre-IFA event in Berlin on September 3.
The South Korean company on Wednesday launched its Galaxy S6 Edge+ (First Impressions) in India, priced at Rs. 57,900 for the 32GB model.
