Moto 360 Smartwatch 'Sold Out'; Motorola Confirms Limited Availability

Motorola's Moto 360 smartwatch was listed as 'sold out' soon after going on sale online in the US. The company confirmed the news on Twitter and also revealed the smartwatch would have 'limited availability' for a while.

"Moto 360 is currently sold out online, but we are working hard to replenish stock. Availability may be limited for a while due to high demand," the company said in a statement to Re/code.

The Moto 360, priced at $250, was launched at an event last week alongside the second generation Moto G and Moto X smartphones.

Motorola's Android-Wear powered smartwatch went on sale in black leather and limited edition gray leather with suede finish in the US on September 5 via Motorola's official store, Google Play (US), and at BestBuy.com. Meanwhile, the smartwatch will be arriving on Best Buy retail stores starting September 14.

Motorola has already revealed that the Moto 360 smartwatch will be going on sale in India by the end of this month.

The Moto 360, which is compatible with smartphones running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean or higher, features a 1.56-inch backlit LCD display with a resolution of 320x290 pixels - translating to a pixel density of 205ppi. It features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

Motorola's first smartwatch features a diameter of 46mm, and is 11.5mm thick. It weighs 49 grams with the leather strap.

It features a 320mAh battery, and Motorola says it will be sufficient for all day (mixed use). The Moto 360 supports wireless charging, and comes with a charging dock. It is powered by a TI OMAP 3 processor (exact chipset unspecified), coupled with 512MB of RAM.

It features 4GB of built-in storage, and comes with Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy connectivity. It features a pedometer, and an optical heart rate monitor (PPG). It comes with an IP67 rating, making it water-resistant. Other features include a single physical button, a vibration motor, and dual microphones.
