Huawei unveiled its Watch 2 wearable back at MWC 2017 in February this year and on Wednesday the company finally launched its new wearable in India. The new smartwatch from Huawei has been launched in three variants, i.e. Sports (Bluetooth), Classic (Bluetooth), and Sports (4G), in India and will be available for purchase only in Black colour option. The aforementioned variants of Huawei Watch 2 have been priced at Rs. 20,999, Rs. 25,999, and Rs. 29,999 in India respectively.

The Huawei Watch 2 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor and runs on the Android Wear 2.0 platform. The Huawei Watch 2 variant with 4G support allows users to send messages or make calls without the need of a smartphone, the company said in its release. "It also features the latest smart living applications and the new Android Wear 2.0 operating system (OS) which is compatible with both Android and iOS, enabling the Huawei Watch 2 to embody the spirit of openness and exploration for all," it said.

Apart from the cellular connectivity, the Huawei Watch 2 also comes with various sensors that allow the wearable to gather data on user's activity, including distance, speed, steps, heart rate, heart rate range, calories, gait, route, and more. The new smartwatch from Huawei comes with built-in GPS and a heart rate detection system as well.

Some of the other features offered by the Huawei Watch 2 include touch control, intelligent speech recognition, and voice instructions. "The battery is smarter too thanks to an optimised battery with greater density and longer life. The battery lasts for two days with regular use, up to 10 hours in 'training mode' and up to three weeks in 'watch mode'," Huawei said in its release.

While Huawei Watch 2 Sports (Bluetooth) variant will remain exclusive to Amazon India, the Sports (4G) and Classic (Bluetooth) variants will be available also through offline retail stores across India. The company also said that additional interchangeable colour bands for the smartwatch will also be announced later this year.
