In collaboration with Paper Magazine, Google has just launched a design contest to allow you to have your design as a watch face in company's Android Wear Collection for the fall. In order to remove all the obstacles and complications associated with designing on computers from the work of art, the company has said that it will accept photos, painted canvas, or even a sketch on a napkin as entries.
In order to enter the competition, all you need to do is post your design on Instagram before September 15 with the hashtags '#AndroidWear' and '#WearWhatYouWant'. Among the entries, five winners will be decided by a panel that includes noted designer Cynthia Rowley, Made co-founder Jenné Lombardo, Queen Bey's stylist Ty Hunter, as well as Android Wear designer Morten Just, and Paper's Editorial Director, Mickey Boardman.
The winning watch faces will be made available for Android Wear users to download and will also feature in Android Wear's fall fashion collection.
The winner of this competition will get an Android Wear watch, a trip to Paris Fashion Week, and a mentorship with one of the aforementioned panellists.
"To celebrate the upcoming fashion weeks, Paper and Android Wear are sponsoring a social media competition - launching a global search for unique watch face designs. Whether you're a design student or just a fashion lover, this is your chance to free your inner designer," Paper said in its article regarding the collaboration.
