The company posted an image on Twitter, teasing, "Something #Incredible is going to happen at #IFA2014, see you there!" The image includes a quote from Lebanese-American poet Khalil Gibran, "Time has been transformed, and we have changed", written on the face of what appears to be a square smartwatch with silver-coloured rounded corners.

Since Asus was part of the first set of Google partners for the Android Wear project when it was announced in March this year, it very likely that the company might debut its first smartwatch product from the partnership at the pre-IFA event.
The expected unveiling of a smartwatch ties-in with a report in June that indicated Asus is working on a smartwatch running Android Wear that will be launched in September. Techcrunch, citing sources familiar with Asus' plans, had claimed that the Taiwanese giant will launch an Android Wear smartwatch at a price point targeted to be below the LG G Watch (Rs. 14,999) and Samsung Gear Live (Rs. 15,900).
The report had also suggested that the unnamed Asus wearable device will pack an AMOLED display and can be priced between $99 (roughly Rs. 6,000) and $149 (roughly Rs. 9,000) at launch.
The rumour goes further back to earlier in March, before the Android Wear unveiling, when Asus was said to be working on a smartwatch that would feature a customisable gesture interface and voice-commands. Notably, the company had announced its plans to enter the wearable segment in November last year. For the latest tech news and reviews, follow Gadgets 360 on X, Facebook, WhatsApp, Threads and Google News.
