After the last month's Android Wear 4.4W.1 update, Google is now rolling out the Android Wear 4.4W.2 update, which includes a number of new features for the smartwatch users.

It is the second of the series of updates to the Android Wear platform announced by Google last month.

Notably, Google has not yet officially announced the update for the users. However, Motorola has announced the update for the Moto 360 on its blog along with a proper changelog of features, several of which are common to the Android Wear 4.4W.2 update and will reach other wearables as well. The LG G Watch and G Watch R are also reportedly receiving the update.

Update: Google on Thursday officially announced the roll-out of the Android Wear 4.4W.2 update, detailing support for GPS sensors and Bluetooth support for listening to music independently of a paired smartphone.

The Moto 360 smartwatch, as a part of the Android Wear update, would now save battery after it crosses the 15 percent mark by automatically turning off the ambient mode. The watch will also adapt its display lighting based on the environment while being charged. The watch will also increase the frequency of time checks with paired smartphones. Also, the users will be able to connect their Bluetooth headsets and other Bluetooth audio devices with the smartwatch, a feature also found in LG G Watch update.

One of the key tweaks included in the Android Wear 4.4W.2 update is the ability to remove of notifications and keep them in the background, achieved by a simple swipe towards the bottom of the screen, a feature announced by Motorola for the Moto 360 and also found by Android Police in the update for LG G Watch R. The notifications will be seen again if the user receives a new high priority notification.

Interestingly, the Android Wear 4.4W.2 update is seen to include a new Play Music UI featuring volume buttons, apart from adding offline music support, and GPS support. However, the GPS support will only work with Sony Smartwatch 3 as it is the only Android Wear device to feature a GPS chip.

Android Central adds that users can now activate the "I'm Feeling Lucky" radio station on giving the voice command "Ok Google, Play Music" as a part of the KNX01Q update for the LG G Watch.
