We are few hours away from Google's annual developer conference, I/O 2016, that will kick off in Mountain View on Wednesday. The search engine giant is already rumoured to announce a lot of developments and now, Xiaomi has confirmed its presence as well.

Hugo Barra, Xiaomi's Vice President of Global Operations, in a tweet confirmed that the Chinese company will be a part of the Google I/O event. Barra confirmed the news in a tweet and wrote, "Beyond thrilled to share that Xiaomi will be a part of Google I/O. A sneak peek of what you'll see from Mi at #IO16"

The first teaser was accompanied by an image that showed remote shaped "i" in the tweet with volume up and down controls. The Chinese company is likely to showcase its first Android TV console made in collaboration with Google.

Barra in his second tweet has further cemented that the Chinese company may reveal a new Android TV box, pointing to the gaming aspect.

We are merely hours away from the I/O 2016 kick-off keynote address and below are some of the expected announcements from Google.

The company can be expected to launch the final version of Android N at I/O while also revealing what the 'N' stands for. Apart from Android N, Google is likely to show a new VR headset which will be a standalone VR headset from Google. A new version of Google Cardboard is also on the cards. Apart from the above announcements, Google is likely to talk about its developments in self-driving cars. The company may also talk about its Project Tango. Google's much-anticipated Project Ara which has been in pipeline for years is expected to show their final Project Ara modular phone at the event.
