At the ongoing CES 2018 trade show, Sennheiser has stepped in with its CX 6.00BT wraparound Bluetooth earbuds. The new earbuds are designed to take on Apple's BeatX in-ear headphones with their lightweight design and a proprietary speaker system that is compatible with Qualcomm's apt-X audio and supports Bluetooth v4.2 connectivity. The company also brought the HD820 headphones as an upgrade in its HD 800 family. The new headphones have curved Corning Gorilla Glass covering transducers.

The Sennheiser CX 6.00BT earbuds will go on sale in the US starting this month with a price tag of $99.95 (approximately Rs. 6,340). The Sennheiser HD 820, on the other hand, will be available sometime in early summer this year at a whopping price of $2,399.95 (roughly Rs. 1,52,400).

Sennheiser has provided Qualcomm apt-X low latency compatibility with the CX 6.00BT that enhance gaming and video watching experience by keeping the audio transmission in sync with the visuals. Also, the ear-canal earbuds have multi-connection support to enable pairing with up to two devices simultaneously. This means you can switch the audio source, say your phone and computer, without re-pairing the earbuds. There is also support for three-way calling that is possible through the available microphone and cVc noise cancellation technology. Further, the headphones have a three-button remote that enables controlling of music and calls.

The around-the-neck cable design of the Sennheiser CX 6.00BT makes the angled ergonomic earpieces lightweight, the company said. The earbuds particular come with 14 grams of weight. Also, there is a cable divider to provide better adjustment. The company has also offered four sizes of ear adapters to reduce ambient noise.

Moreover, the CX 6.00BT come with six-hour of battery life. There is fast USB charging that can add two hours of battery time in just 10 minutes and enables fully changed in only 1.5 hours, as claimed by the company. The headphones also provide voice prompts to notify users about the battery status.

Unlike the minimalistic CX 6.00BT, the Sennheiser HD 820 are closed-back stereo headphones with a circumaural dynamic design. The HD 820 headphones have Sennheiser Ring Radiator transducers with Corning Gorilla Glass-featuring curved glass covers. The company believes that the new design will help to reflect the sound waves from the rear of the transducer to two absorber chambers that ultimately results in minimal resonance.

The Sennheiser HD 820 have silver-cladded OFC cables and gold-plated plugs. Also, the ear pads of the headphones are touted to be handcrafted from high-quality, non-allergic synthetic leather and microfibre material. Besides, the headphones have Pentaconn connectors as the new standard for outputs.
