Samsung launching 5.8-inch media player at IFA?

There seems to plenty of buzz around the IFA already and it is expected that Samsung will be announcing its Galaxy Note II at this press event. However, this may not be the only device that the Korean maker might be ousting.

As per SamMobile, Samsung is expected to announce a brand new media player at IFA too. This beefed up version of media player will sport a giant 5.8-inch qHD display with a resolution of 540X960. It will also be packing 1GHz processor and will be topped by the goodness of Ice Cream Sandwich. In terms of designing, this player looks much like Samsung's flagship smartphone - Samsung Galaxy S III.

Other features include 1GB memory, expandable up to 32 GB through Micro SD, 3 megapixel rear camera and 2500 mAh battery. Samsung Galaxy Player will be available in two colour options - black and white. However, as of now there are no details in regards to what this device will cost.

Samsung had first introduced Galaxy Player about eighteen months ago and with this new addition it seems that the company is looking to bring in some fresh competition in this segment.
