LG has unveiled two new 4K monitors catering to two groups of loyalists. The LG 34-inch 34UM79M monitor comes with Chromecast built-in for all those fans invested in Google software and hardware, and the HDR-capable LG 32-inch 32UD99 4K monitor come with USB Type-C connectivity to help connect with MacBook laptops easily. Pricing and availability will be detailed at CES 2017.
Beginning with the LG 34UM79M, the 34-inch monitor boasts of a 21:9 UltraWide 4K (exact resolution unspecified) display and is touted to be the world's first Chromecast-enabled multimedia monitor. Apart from streaming movies, TV shows, and games directly onto the monitor, it also allows owners to multitask between the PC and the mobile device using a single screen. Furthermore, the monitor comes with a Dual Controller Plus feature allowing users to control both a PC and a smartphone/tablet via a single keyboard and mouse.
LG has also unveiled the 32-inch 32UD99 UHD 4K (3849x2160 pixels) monitor that supports HDR10 standard. HDR10 enhances brightness levels and brings wide color gamut image to the monitor for superior image quality. As mentioned, the monitor sports USB-C port for ease in connectivity with laptops, especially MacBooks. With the Thunderbolt Displays now discontinued, the new LG monitor could prove to be an ideal alternative. Additionally, the monitor's built-in speakers come with LG's Rich Bass technology for elevated audio experience.
LG states that both these monitors will be showcased at the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas next month. Alongside these display, LG will also showcase the 34-inch 34UC99 21:9 UltraWide gaming monitor equipped with AMD FreeSync technology, 1ms Motion Blur Reduction, Dynamic Action Sync, Black Stabilizer and other features for catering to gamers. CES 2017 is to take commence from January 5 and go on till January 8.
