LG launched its lineup of Music Flow Wi-Fi speakers ahead of IFA 2014, and now ahead of CES 2015, has unveiled its refreshed lineup with the Music Flow Wi-Fi Series, including the company's first battery-powered Wi-Fis peaker (Model H4 Portable).
Other new Music Flow products introduced by the South Korean consumer electronics giant include two new sound bars (Models HS7 and HS9), and a streaming 3D Blu-ray player (Model BP550). LG reiterates the speakers are designed to be compatible with Android and iOS devices.
The LG H4 Portable (seen above) is the company's first wireless speaker with a built-in battery for easy portability from one room to another. LG says the HS7 (seen above( sound bar provides "seamless HD sound", while the HS9 (seen below) sound bar offers "outstanding, deep acoustics". The LG BP550 streaming 3D Blu-ray player on the other hand can be connected to Music Flow speakers to stream sound from any CD or USB drive.
Pricing and availability details will be announced at CES 2015.
As with the original lineup of Music Flow speakers, the new speakers are managed by the LG Music Flow Player app that also helps users centrally manage their entire digital music library. The LG Music Flow Player app also includes a Mood Station to provide recommendations or automatically create a playlist. The Audio Streaming Service on the Music Flow Player app also gives quick access to the user's Internet radio and music streaming accounts, such as Spotify, Deezer, Napster and TuneIn.
LG Music Flow speakers incorporate LG HomeChat, enabling users to utilise the Line messaging app to communicate with LG Music Flow in natural English. LG is also touting the NFC tag function, supposedly a first in a wireless Hi-Fi audio system for the home, which brings one-touch pairing. Other features of LG Music Flow include Auto Music Play, with which users can listen to music outdoors on a smartphone and automatically switch to Music Flow when arriving home.
"The flexibility and quality of the LG Music Flow Wi-Fi Series delivers a listening experience that goes beyond what conventional audio systems have been able to offer until now," said Byung-hoon Min, senior vice president and head of the CAV division at the LG Home Entertainment Company. "With Wi-Fi capability and high-fidelity audio output, our Music Flow Wi-Fi Series is the epitome of what a smart audio system should be capable of in the 21st century."
