LG Electronics India has expanded its Ultra HD (UHD) TV portfolio by launching two new 4K models, the 55-inch and 65-inch LA9700 Ultra HD TVs.
LG says its new Ultra HD TVs feature a stylish yet functional design. The new models sport narrow bezels of LG's Cinema Screen Design, along with a chrome finish stand.
LG's new LA9700 55-inch and 65-inch UHD 4K TVs deliver 8.3 million pixels per frame, according to the company.
As per LG, the Ultra HD Engine employed in the TV up-scales any video format into near-Ultra HD picture quality. The UHD 4K TVs have been optimised with LG's proprietary Super Resolution algorithm, 1000 MCI, and the Tru-Ultra HD Engine maximises image clarity , improves sharpness and eliminates blurring caused by the up-scaling process, according to LG.
Additionally, LG says it has equipped the new Ultra HD TVs with Nano Full LED backlighting, resulting in enhanced illumination control, ensuring good contrast and consistent brightness across the entire breadth of the screen. The UHD 4K TVs are fitted with an IPS Panel, for wider viewing angles.
The LA9700 Ultra HD TVs also feature LG's FPR 3D technology, that claims to offer a flicker-free 3D viewing experience. The viewer also needs to wear lightweight, passive 3D glasses for watching 3D content. The TVs feature an embedded 2D to 3D conversion engine allowing the conversion of any 2D show to 3D.
The LG's latest UHD 4K TVs also offer a dual play feature and include special glasses enabling two viewers to see only their perspectives simultaneously on the full screen at once without having to split the screen enhancing the gaming experience on the TVs.
"When we first unveiled our 84-inch ULTRA HD TV the reception we received was phenomenal," said Soon Kwon, MD- LG India. "The Ultra HD TV format is here to stay and with the new sizes offering Nano FULL LED backlighting and our proprietary Tru-Ultra HD Engine, these models are in a class of their own." Added Kwon.
The two new LG LA9700 Ultra HD 4K TVs feature a 4.1 channel, 50W sound system that includes the Sliding Speaker, a concealed sound bar boasting four forward-facing speakers. A powerful subwoofer is located behind the TVs for enhanced bass.
The LA9700 Ultra HD 4K TVs' Sliding Speaker can be programmed to remain permanently hidden or permanently extended. It can also be set to silently slide out when the TV is turned on, and retract when powered off.
The TVs are based on LG's Smart TV platform offering a collection of apps and content services. It incorporates a service called Now On, which recommends content based on the user's viewing habits. The 55-inch and 65-inch Ultra HD TVs offer wireless connectivity options such as Wi-Di and Miracast for convenient screen mirroring, and LG's NFC-based Tag On for convenient device pairing. Users can record live television with the help of a Smart TV feature called time machine. It also offers voice and motion control features that monitors voice modulation and acts according to the need, and Skype allowing users to make voice and video calls.
The TVs' Magic Remote features natural language recognition, point, wheel, and gesture control options, for navigating menus, searching for content or playing entertaining game apps.
LG's new LA9700 Ultra HD 4K TVs have an inbuilt camera and inbuilt Wi-Fi connectivity with a USB movie and HDMI connection. The TVs also sport features like Digital (Output Audio Out) and HVEC decoder to play the ultra HD content.
The 55-inch and 65-inch LA9700 Ultra HD TVs are priced at Rs.3,30,000 and Rs.4,50,000 respectively, and are available across LG best shops.
The TVs come with certifications from Intertek and Underwriters Laboratories (UL), two respected product testing and certification bodies.
