Chinese electronics and content company LeEco has sent invites for a launch event in New Delhi on Thursday, where it is expected to unveil its range of Super TV televisions in India.
To recall, LeEco has already launched its 'Supertainment' content services in India, back in May. Not much is known about the range that LeEco is planning to bring to India. At its April event in China earlier this year, LeEco launched new 50-inch models in its Super TV lineup - Super 4 X50 Pro and Super 4 X50.
The above listed fourth-generation Super TVs run Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based eUI 5.8. While the Super 4 X50 Pro variant features 4K resolution with 3D functionality and is powered by a Snapdragon 810 SoC coupled with 3GB of RAM, the regular model features a 4K resolution and is powered by an MStar 6A938 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. Both come in 16GB and 32GB storage variants.
The Surface 4 X50 Pro version is priced at CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs. 30,100), while the Super 4 X50 is priced at CNY 2,499 (roughly Rs. 25,100). Both LeEco Super TVs launched in April feature Harmon Kardon audio, and support voice recognition.
Notably, LeEco last month announced it was acquiring US-based television manufacturer Vizio for $2 billion (roughly Rs. 13,450 crores). Announcing the acquisition, LeEco Founder and CEO Jia Yueting said, "LeEco believes in breakthrough technologies, a complete ecosystem and disruptive pricing. Acquiring Vizio is an important step in our globalisation strategy and building our North American presence."Jia added that Vizio's business model "changed the industry and aligns with our vision of breaking boundaries to deliver consumer-focused products, software and services."
