Popular US-based website and TV-content streaming service Hulu has
announced that its service Hulu Plus will now be available on Apple TV.
Update: That didn't last long. Hulu has promptly plugged the gap and international users see the "Geo restriction" message.
Hulu Plus will be available as an app on the Apple TV home screen. Existing Hulu Plus subscribers can simply login via their credentials. New users have the option to sign up via Hulu's website or within Apple TV using their iTunes account. The recurring subscription fees of $7.99/month will be billed straight to the iTunes account.
Big shakes. Yet another way for spoilt-for-choice folks in the US to access the latest television content. Right? Wrong!
Unlike the Hulu website, Hulu Plus on Apple TV can be accessed from anywhere in the world. You read that right! At least as of launch on Tuesday, there's no infamous "Sorry, currently our video library can only be watched from within the United States" when you try to access the service from Apple TV.
Unless this is a big oversight on Hulu's part, this is big news for viewers worldwide. For $7.99 a month, you can get access to the latest shows at your fingertips. Here's a photograph of Hulu Plus running on

The only catch here is you need a US-based iTunes account. The world knows they are not that hard to get hold of, so enjoy the show - if you've managed to get your hands on the Apple TV in the first place, given it is not officially available in India!
With this, Hulu Plus is now available on a wide range of platforms including Smart TVs, mobile phones, gaming consoles (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo 3DS, Wii, Wii U), TiVo boxes and media players like Roku, WD TV, and now, Apple TV.
