Chromecast with Google TV was launched in India on Monday. The latest device by the search giant supports leading streaming platforms and offers 4K HDR video playback at 60 frames per second (fps). It has Dolby Vision support as well. The Chromecast with Google TV comes bundled with a voice remote featuring a dedicated Google Assistant button. It was initially launched in the US back in 2020. The new streaming device will compete with the likes of Realme 4K Smart Google TV Stick and Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max in India.

Chromecast with Google TV price in India, availability

The new Chromecast with Google TV is priced at Rs. 6,399 and is currently available for purchase in India via Flipkart. It is offered in a single Snow colour. Google confirmed that it is going to be available at other retail outlets soon.

Flipkart is offering cashback of up to 5 percent on purchases using the Flipkart Axis Bank Card. Additionally, the e-commerce website is offering Chromecast with Google TV with no-cost EMIs starting at Rs. 2,133.

To recall, the Chromecast with Google TV was launched in the US in September 2020, with a price tag of $49.99 (roughly Rs. 3,900).

Chromecast with Google TV specifications, features

Google's new Chromecast with Google TV comes with a compact design and can be plugged into TVs through the HDMI port. The streaming device offers access to movies, shows, apps, subscriptions and more that give users access to all their content in one place.

The latest Chromecast model offers 4K HDR streaming at up to 60fps, with Dolby Vision. It supports HDMI pass-through of Dolby Audio content. The company is also providing a voice remote with the Chromecast with Google TV. It has a dedicated Google Assistant button that allows users to control their smart home lights and dedicated buttons for entertainment platforms such as YouTube and Netflix. It also comes with support for Amazon Prime Video, Spotify, Disney+ Hotstar, Zee5, MX Player, Voot and more. Besides, it weighs 118 grams.

Google TV on the new Chromecast will allow viewers to get personalised watch suggestions based on their different subscriptions. Also, users can create a Watch List with movies and shows from anywhere on their phone or laptop and it will get updated on the TV.

The Chromecast With Google TV can be expected to compete with the likes of Realme 4K Smart Google TV Stick and Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max. The former was unveiled for Rs. 3,999 in the country, while the latter was launched with a price tag of Rs. 6,499.
